Desiree Smith
Hey there everyone!
My name is Desiree but I go by Desi (unless I'm in trouble). My husband serves as an active duty service member in the Army at Ft. Benning/Moore. We have two fur babies, a Blue Heeler named Sophie and a Golden Pyrenees named Marley. We currently reside in Sweet Home Alabama but both originate from the windy city!
I work in behavioral health and cannot wait to begin my masters program in August 2024 to pursue my BCBA credentials.
I absolutely love all things outdoors. I have camped for many years with friends back home and have fond memories of my large family playing various sports outside. I love to move! Roller blading, crossfit, walking, hiking, paddling, yoga, running, snorkeling, travel, you name it! I do have an irrational fear of heights but I don't think about that going up, that's a coming back down problem.
There is a special feeling I get when I get to connect back to our earth and marvel at its beauty.

Favorite Adventure: It seems as though I have too many to pick a favorite because they were all my favorite in the moment. To choose, highlight hikes would be Three Sisters Falls in California and Cummins Falls State Park in Tennessee. I love me a good waterfall.
Favorite Trail Snack: Fruit is so refreshing to have while hiking, an apple, cuties, watermelon, yum! I also love various jerky from buckies (ifykyk) as well as the heart healthy mixed nuts.
I always bring a backpack or a fanny pack with my first aid supplies, put on my sunscreen with short sleeves, carry my phone, and water. Oh, can't forget my adventure doggo, Sophie!
